Maritzburg United’s winless streak continued when they were held to a
2-2 draw by Stellenbosch FC at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night.

The outcome of this match means that the Team of Choice have gone eight matches without a win having lost six times and drawn twice since the season started in October.

The team from the Cape Winelands came from behind twice – in both halves – to steal a point in the KwaZulu/Natal Midlands.

Judas Moseamedi netted a brace for the Team of Choice while Marc van Heerden and Stanley Dimgba scored for Stellies.

Moseamedi scored early in the match only for Van Heerden to cancel the lead. Moseamedi restored the Team of Choice’s lead when he completed his brace after a blunder by Stellies goalkeeper Sage Stephens. Once again, Stellies equalised through Dimgba.

The Team of Choice are still rooted at the bottom of the DStv Premiership standings while Stelllies are eighth with nine points from eight matches.
