Benni McCarthy had a good start as AmaZulu coach as he led Usuthu to
their second win of the season when they beat struggling Chippa United 3-1 in a DStv Premiership match at the King’s Park Stadium in Durban on Sunday.

Luvuyo Memela scored a brace for Usuthu with the other goal coming from Augustine Mulenga while Isaac Nhlapo netted for the Chilli Boys.

The Port Elizabeth-based club took the lead through Nhlapo’s goal in the 14th minute, but Usuthu equalised through Mulenga in the 23rd minute. Memela scored his first goal in the 29th minute and completed
his brace in the 57th minute following a counter attack.  Memela has now scored six goals since joining Usuthu from Orlando Pirates.

Usuthu’s goals came after they capitalised on defensive frailties by the Chilli Boys defenders. The Chilli Boys have leaked 12 goals compared to the seven they have scored in eight matches.

Sunday’s loss might be the end of Lehlohonolo Seema as Chilli Boys coach as he has won once, drawn twice and lost five matches.

Meanwhile, Swallows FC’s unbeaten run continued when they came from behind to beat Black Leopards 2-1 at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

Swallows’ goals came from Ruzaigh Gamildien and Joseph Mhlongo while Onyedikachi Ononogbu scored for Lidoda Duvha.

The Dube Birds have won five matches and drawn three times on their way to collecting 18 points.
