The Brazilians beat Jwaneng Galaxy 2-0 at the Lobatse Sports Complex, Lobatse, in Botswana while the Buccaneers defeated Angolan side Sagrada Esperança 1-0 in Luanda, Angola.

Former Highlands Park players Mothobi Mvala and Peter Shalulile, who joined Sundowns at the beginning of this season, scored for the Brazilians to make sure that the Pretoria side have a comfortable lead
going to the second leg, which is going to be played in January.

On the other hand, Thembinkosi Lorch came to Pirates’ rescue scoring for the Buccaneers in Angola. The MTN8 champions are going to host the Angolans at the Orlando Stadium, Soweto, on Wednesday, 6 January 2021.
