Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates confirmed the capturing of midfielder, Thapelo Mokobodi, on a three-year contract from Cape Winelands side, Stellenbosch FC, on Wednesday morning.
The 23-year-old Mokobodi has now been united with Pirates coach, Abdesalam Ouaddou, who coached him at Marumo Gallants.
“I am pleased to be here and look forward to meeting the rest of the team. It’s a big opportunity to play for such a club and I am ready to get going. I would like to make a meaningful contribution to this great institution,” Mokobodi said.
The new Buccaneers recruit has played 53 matches – 28 for Stellies and 25 times in a Gallants.
